Open research on decentralized systems

Azurion Labs is a small research group studying consensus protocols, applied cryptography and peer-to-peer networks. We publish papers, open-source tooling and educational notes — we do not sell products or financial services.

Research Areas

Topics we spend our time on

Our work is academic and engineering-oriented. Everything we publish is free to read, use and cite.

Consensus Protocols

Fault tolerance, finality guarantees and validator dynamics in BFT and Nakamoto-style protocols, with an emphasis on failure analysis.

Applied Cryptography

Zero-knowledge proof systems, hash-based constructions and secure implementations, including side-channel and misuse analysis.

Peer-to-Peer Networks

Gossip protocols, topology measurement and eclipse-attack resistance, studied through reproducible network simulations.

Formal Verification

Model checking and theorem-proving applied to protocol specifications, with a public repository of machine-checked proofs.

Protocol Security Reviews

Independent, published reviews of open protocols, written for the public record. We accept no payment from reviewed projects.

Education & Open Courseware

Lecture notes, annotated code walkthroughs and problem sets for students and engineers learning distributed systems.
